A dominant performance saw Blues progress to the Velocity (Isthmian) League Cup quarter-final with a 5-1 win at Wingate & Finchley, on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Olly Miles, Ryan Charles, Jamie Cureton and Hector Kyprianou, together with an own goal set up a last eight trip to Mertsham in January.
With four players – Luke Callander, Nick Brown, Ben Sampayo and Ryan Henshaw – cup tied, it was a much changed Stortford side that took the field at The Maurice Rebak Stadium.
And the visitors received a further blow in the warm-up when captain Sam Robbins picked up an injury and was replaced by Alex Warman who made his first senior start. There were also late debuts by substitutes Lewis Wicker and Anderson Silva as Blues wrapped up their biggest win of the campaign.
