Tanners trip for Blues
The Tanners are another old rival for the Blues, and they even have their own song at Woodside Park. The sides haven’t met since the 2000/01 season when we won 2-1 at Fetcham Grove before we pushed them towards relegation with a 4-0 home win in February 2001. After winning promotion through the play-offs four years ago, the Tanners had three mid-table seasons before narrowly missing out on the play-offs last year, finishing sixth with 79 points.
They reached the FA Cup second round last season, with their run including a televised replay win against Billericay Town in the first round, before losing 3-1 at Wycombe Wanderers. But they were subsequently found to have played an ineligible player at the start of that run and missed out on the prize money. They were less successful in the FA Trophy, going out against Royston in the second stage after a home win against Hythe Town.
