Success for under-17s

U17Blues under-17s finished the season in style by beating Buckhurst Hill under-18s in the Eastern Junior Alliance Ingilby Paints Cup final, on Sunday.

Morgan LaForce’s side – who have provided five players for the first team squad this season – dominated the final at Harlow Town FC for long spells but fell behind against the run of play.

Harron levelled midway through the first half, but Blues started the second with a high-tempo performance and put Hill’s goal under pressure.

Callum Taylor produced his traditional cup final goal – having scored in every final for the side over the last four years – before Marcus Crowther sealed the victory. It completed another good season for a group of players that have produced good football this season playing in a league and cup competition a year above their age group. They also provided the bulk of the Blues’ side who reached the FA  Youth Cup second round proper and they can still clinch the runners-up spot in their division with a win against Woodbridge Town.
