Smith praises Blues

Despite seeing his side’s play-off dreams fail at the final hurdle, joint boss Steve Smith praised Blues’ players following their 2-1 loss at Carshalton, on Saturday.

“I’m gutted this morning, but so proud of all the boys” he said, “It’s been a great effort the last few weeks and yesterday things didn’t drop for us.

“We conceded two early goals which killed us but bounced back got the goal and on another day could have easily been level by half-time . In the second half we battered them but it wasn’t to be.

“I’d like to thank everyone for some fantastic support yesterday and throughout the season, and hopefully I’ll see a lot of fans at the awards evening next Saturday. For those that are not there I hope you have enjoyed the season and you’ll all be there supporting us next season.”
