Smith pleased with three points

Blues’ joint boss Steve Smith was pleased to see his side move up to sixth place in Bostik Premier as Ryan Henshaw’s goal gave them a 1-0 win against Harlow Town, on Boxing Day.

“I was pleased with the result yesterday and relieved to get the three points” said Smith. “I think Harlow came and had a right go and probably thought they deserved something out of the game.

ryan v harlow2“Both teams had chances but we got the goal and defended really well I was very pleased with Mark Haines who hasn’t played a lot but came in and done great

“l think we could have been better in other areas of our game but it was a Boxing Day derby and it’s great we have done the double over our closest rivals and we now move on to Brightlingsea on Saturday  where we will b looking to get something from the game.

“I hope all Stortford fans enjoy the rest of Christmas break.  Thanks for your support it was great to see so many there on Boxing Day.  Come on you Blues!”
