Smith pleased with “great performance”

Joint manager Steve Smith was a happy man after his side ended Mertsham’s ten game unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory, on Saturday.

“It was great performance from the boys, and I’m really pleased with two clean sheets on the bounce” he said.

“Apart from the penalty which Arthur has pulled off two fantastic saves. They didn’t open us up all over the pitch, we were better than them, they have been on a great run, but I know when we have a full squad to pick from we capable of beating anyone in this league.”

” I must add that I thought the performance of the referee was very poor the penalty was a joke. Hainsey [Mark Haines] got mark on his stomach but thanks to our keeper it didn’t affect the result of the game.”

“So all in all it was a very good afternoon for us and it keeps us in striking distance of those play off places. Thanks for everyone’s support.”
