Smith happy with point

Blues’ boss Steve Smith was delighted  after his ten-man side fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Mertsham, on Saturday.
The result extended Stortford’s unbeaten run to seven games, and came despite seeing red three minutes into the second half, before Issac Nkosi netted nine minutes from time to send the visitors home happy.
“It was a good result for us today despite having Jordan sent off after 48 minutes when we were a goal down” said Smith.
“There was  great desire from the lads to come back and get a point. There’s no reported injuries, so we move onto the Welwyn Garden City game on Tuesday night where will give the lads who haven’t played a lot a game a chance.”
Blues had fallen behind shortly before half-time when Walter Figueira scored. The result leaves the Blue Brazil in eighth place in the Bostik League, one point off the play-offs, albeit having played the most amount of games in the division.
