Smith eyes play-offs

Joint manager Steve Smith hasn’t given up on a place in the play-offs following Blues’ 1-0 win at AFC Hornchurch, on Saturday.
Jamie Cureton’s 13 minute goal saw Blues seal a double over the east London side, and they are eight points off the play-offs going into the final six games of the season.
“It was a great win for us, and I’m so pleased for the boys” said Smith “The two centre halves played with injuries that normally would have ruled them out, but they took painkillers to get through the game which demonstrates the spirit we have in the club at the moment.
steve smith“We knew we had to win to have a chance of play-offs and everybody dug in to get the result we needed .
“It was good to see Curo get the goal it was a good move and a great finish by him it’s coming up to his 1000 games on April 22nd at home to Brightlingsea. I hope everyone makes a special effort to get there to recognise what he has done in the game.”
Smith is clearly happy with his side as they recorded a second straight win: “I am really positive at the moment I think we are in really good shape and if we can keep everyone together plus a couple of new additions I can only see good time ahead.
“It was good to see so many fans at the game yesterday, thanks as always for your support.”
