Saints trip for Blues

BLUES will look to move up to 16th place when they travel to St Neots Town, on Saturday.

The Cambridgeshire side are 13th in the Evo-Stik South Premier table with 50 points from 38 games, but will go into the match of four straight defeats – all of which have been away from their Premier Plus Stadium home.

In common with Blues they went out of the FA and League Cups at the first stage with defeats against Cambridge City and AFC Rushden & Diamonds respectively, and they also went out of the FA Trophy at the second qualifying round stage with a 3-2 loss against Stourbridge following a victory against Corby Town.

When the sides met in a league game for the first time in November, Kevin Watson’s side were unlucky not to take a point from this closely fought match after losing to a goal just before the midpoint of the second half.

Jordan Westcott had levelled for the Blues on the half-hour mark before Nabil Shariff sealed the win for the Saints.

Meanwhile, Matt Wadron’s Blues’ under-21 side return to league action for the first time in a month on Saturday when they host a Woodford Town reserve side who are two places above them in tenth spot. Kick-off at the ProKit UK Stadium is 2.30pm and admission is £4 for adults.
