jc1Blues’ joint player-manager Jamie Cureton was the recipient of two awards as the Isthmian League held its AGM in Brighton, on Saturday.
The veteran striker won the Premier Division Golden Boot thanks to his 22 league goals and was also named in the Premier Division Team-of-the-Year. Blues’ chairman Ian Kettridge received the award on his behalf.ik
Cureton finished one goal ahead of Dorking Wanderers’ Jason Prior and three clear of Enfield Town’s Billy Bricknell. Two of his goals came from the penalty spot, while his main rivals for the Boot all scored significantly more penalties.
There two former Blues in leading scorers chart, with Elliott Buchanan finishing sixth with 11 goals for Kingstonian and six for Dorking, while Jon Nouble finished ninth with 16 goals for Haringey – eight of which came from the spot.
The team-of-the-year was as follows, they appear to have got the player-of-the-year wrong:
