Looking back – Lewes v Blues

kt1As Saturday’s game against Lewes approaches, Blues fan Andrew Bubien looks back at a previous game against the Sussex side.

Blues played at Lewes in the second round (now the second qualifying round) of the F A Trophy in the 2004/5 season.

Both clubs were playing in the newly formed Conference South and at the time in November 2004 Lewes were sitting in eighth position and Blues 14th.

Two goals from Steve Morison and one each from Paul Hakim and Tim Langer gave Stortford a comfortable 4-1 win and another stepping stone to the semi-final with Hucknall Town the following March.
