Five on the bounce for Academy

IPSWICH WANDERERS 1 BISHOP’S STORTFORD 4
Blues Academy stretched their winning streak to give gameswith a comfortable victory over the lowly hosts.
In their first game after the Christmas break, Matt Kemp  gave Stortford the lead in the fifth minute following a surging run up the right flank and a shot that finished in the far top corner.
Near misses to extend the lead followed with Kemp, Sami Shulton and Joseph Vieites-Stephenson going close before Kieran Bonney netted from close range at the far upright in the 24th minute after a deep cross from the left by Jacob Bennett.

Wanderers pulled a goal back a minute later when striker George Ablitt headed in at the back post.

Stortford remained on top until the break with Kemp having a shot saved by keeper Callum Johnson.

The Blues continued to have the better of the proceedings and skipper Frankie Oatham had a free-kick saved at the foot of a post by Johnson in the 56th minute. They had to wait until the 70th minute to add to their tally when an excellent move finished with Jamie Riley crossing from the left and Oatham scoring at the second attempt after his first shot was blocked on the goal-line
Wanderers should have reduced the arrears five minutes from time as substitute Sam Quinton scuffed his shot close to the near post and Aron Martin was able to block away the effort.

Bonney nearly netted in the closing minutes but the fourth goal arrived in the second minute of added time with Oatham scoring again with a shot from just inside the box after good work by Shulton and Kemp.
