Dorking Wanderers 1 Blues 0

A  good display wasn’t enough to prevent Blues going down by a single goal at Bostik League leaders Dorking Wanderers, on Saturday.
The hosts took all three points as Matt Briggs netted in the 53rd minute to give his side a ninth straight victory.
With Jamie Cureton still missing due to injury and Luke Callander not joining the action until close to the hour mak , Stortford again had a young forward line with Alfie Mason and Ben Worman leading their attack.
They matched the hosts in the early stages, though Arthur Janita was forced into a good save from Tom Richards.
Worman had Stortford’s best chance of half, with Salvomir Huk doing well to keep his effort out, but the visitors did well to soak up the pressure from the league leaders.
George Craddock replaced Mark Haines five minutes into the second half, but what proved to be the game’s only goal came three minutes later when Blues failed to clear a ball from the left and Briggs hit it on the half-volley past a stationless Janata into the far corner.
Callander and Ryan Charles joined the action shortly after the goal, and Ryan Henshaw saw a 20 yard effort well held by Huk and Worman continued to cause the hosts problem, but Wanderers held on to stay nine points clear at the top of the table while Blues dropped to 12th.
