BISHOP’S STORTFORD 0, STAINES TOWN 5
(THE NATIONAL LEAGUE UNDER 19 ALLIANCE – DIVISION C)
BLUES’ Acadamy’s first home game in almost three months saw a disappointing performance as they were forced to play second fiddle to the superior visitors for most of this contest.
The Swans went ahead in the 9th minute with Gabriel Piorkowski scoring the first of his four goals in the afternoon with a volley from 12 yards after the Stortford defence had chances to clear.
The Blues’ Dan Hampton almost got through the Staines defence but keeper Kai Douglas came out to block the ball away for a corner and soon afterwards, in the 33rd minute, Piorkowski beat Archie Lambert with an acute angled effort to extend the visitors’ lead.
An early deep free-kick from the right by Jack Johnson saw Douglas struggling to turn the ball over the bar but that was as good as it got. Piorkowski completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute rifling a fierce 20 yard drive into the corner of the net.
Lambert prevented another goal when producing a fine save to keep out a header from a corner before Matt Wood fouled Piorkowski in the box in the 72nd minute for a penalty but Lambert saved the spot-kick from Piorkowski and Nasim Regragui shot wide from the rebound.
Six minutes from the final whistle Piorkowski struck another shot from distance that found the corner of the net and the scoring was completed in the final whistle when substitute Tomi Lee flicked home a cross from the right
