Blues visit Swifts tonight

Blues will look to follow up Saturday’s 2-1 win at Harlow Town when they travel to Heybridge Swifts this evening, kick-off 7.45pm.
Swifts finished fifth in Isthmian North last season with 74 points from 38 games, missing out on promotion in the play-offs as they lost on penalties against neighbours Maldon Town. The FA Cup saw them win home games against West Essex and Newmarket Town before losing 4-3 at Horsham, while in the FA Trophy they lost 4-2 at Ashford Town (Middx) in the first stage.
Swifts opened their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw at Essex Senior League Walthamstow on Saturday, former Blues’ legend Elliot Ronto getting on the scoresheet for them.
The sides also met in friendly last September with Swifts hitting a late winner to seal a 3-2 victory in what proved to be one of Adam Flint’s last games in charge. Jake Cass and a trialist netted for Stortford, while Luke Callander scored Swifts’ first goal before limping off following a late challenge from another trialist.
