Blues’ new caretaker management team of Steve Smith and Jamie Cureton will look to lead their side away from the relegation zone when they host Carshalton Athletic on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
After a poor start to life in the Bostik League following their transfer from the Southern League led to the resignation of boss Adam Flint, Smith and Cureton will be looking for a first home win of the campaign when the Robins visit.
The Surrey side have lost just once in six league games, but three straight 1-1 draws have seen them
Amazingly the Robins managed to exit the FA Cup before Stortford as the reorganisation of non-league football saw them enter the competition a round earlier, losing 1-0 at home against Horsham. Monday evening saw them go out of the League Cup with a 3-0 home defeat against Corinthian Casuals.
The last meeting between the clubs came in 2011 and saw Blues make the national Press as manager Ian Walker left the club after a 5-0 hammering in the FA Trophy with several fans claiming that the former Tottenham goalkeeper had sworn at them.
After four years in the fourth tier of non-league football, the Robins won Bostik League Division One South last season, gaining 101 points and scoring 99 goals in 46 games.
