Blues look for Gate double

Blues will look to make it four wins in the bounce when they host Margate on Saturday.
It’s the first of three home games in 17 days for Steve Smith’s and Jamie Cureton’s side and they will face a side who are three places and two points behind them in 13th.
The Kent side have taken 53 points from 37 games in their second season back in the third tier of non-league football.
JamieCuretonStortford will be aiming for a league double over ‘Gate having come from a goal down to win 4-1 at Hartsdown Road in November – Luke Callander and Ryan Charles netting in the first half before a second half brace from Jamie Cureton wrapping things up.
Margate’s FA Cup campaign saw a 3-2 home win against Horndean before losing 2-0 at National League South side Concord Rangers, while they went out of the FA Trophy at the first stage with a 2-1 home loss against league rivals Potters Bar Town.
The sides previously met in the 2016/17 season, with both teams winning on their opponent’s ground as Margate ended the season as the only team below Blues. A 2-0 loss against the Kent side in September hastened the end of Gordon Boateng’s brief spell as manager but in the return Greg Cundle gave Blues a first half lead, before Phil Walsh scored on his debut to make it 2-0 just after the beak and Emmanuel Adebowale wrapped things up 20 minutes from time.
‘Gate were relegated to the Bostik League and finished just outside the play-off zone in seventh last season before Blues joined them in the competition this year.
