300 up for Jamie
Blues boss Kevin Watson had praise for veteran striker Jamie Cureton as he netted his 300th goal in senior football, on Saturday.
Cureton hit Blues’ third goal in their 4-3 home win against St Ives, leaving Watson a happy man: “Congrats to the ageless Jamie Cureton on a wonderful individual performance and also getting his 300th goal in the process” he said.
“It was a less than average first half from us today but we tinkered with it at half-time and we came out a different team!”
After a career that saw him play for 13 different professional clubs as well as a spell in Korea, 42-year-old Cureton was delighted to reach the milestone:
“I’m delighted to scored my first goal at home I think that was my 300 league goal as well.”
The former Norwich striker was also pleased with Blues’ first win since just before Christmas: “What a win by the boys today” he said. “We were not at our best first half but came out a different team second half. “
