Smith ready for Cheshunt game

As his side prepare to host Cheshunt on Saturday, Blues’ joint boss Steve Smith is looking for his side to build on Monday’s 3-0 win at Kingstonian.
Goals from Shormari Barnwell – on his return to the club – Johnville Renee and Ben Worman saw the Blue Brazil record their second win of the league campaign, and Smith was delighted with the performance:.
“It was a great result today” he said. “We went back to 4-4-2 and we looked back to our best strong all over the pitch.
“It was good to see Shammy get off the mark. It’s a good three points for us and we can now look forward to Cheshunt  at home on Saturday.”
While the sides have met occasionally in county cup action, Cheshunt’s visit to the ProKit UK Stadium on Saturday will be the first league game between the sides since the 1970/71 season when both sides won at home.
The Ambers have found goals hard to come by upon their return to the Isthmian League Premier Division, with just four scored in an as many league games. A 4-1 drubbing at East Thurrock United on the opening day of the season wasn’t the best of starts, but they bounced back to beat Potters Bar 1-0 before losing 2-0 at home against Haringey Borough. The Bank Holiday weekend saw them beat Stowmarket Town 1-0 in the FA Cup before conceding an injury time goal against Corinthian-Casuals to share the points.
Both goals over the weekend were Tom Hitchcock penalties as he took his tally to three from the spot this season, with Brian Moses the Ambers’ only other scorer in their five games.
