Mark Hughes Named New Assistant Manager

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Hughes as the new Assistant Manager of Bishop’s Stortford Football Club.

Mark will need little introduction to supporters having become a fan favourite during our 2017/18 campaign in the Southern League, netting 5 goals in 34 appearances whilst also serving as Assistant Manager to Kevin Watson.

As a player ‘Hughesy’ came through the youth ranks at Tottenham Hotspur before embarking on a long career that saw him feature in the Football League for the likes of Northampton Town, Barnet, Oldham Athletic, Chester City and Chesterfield as well as stints in non-league with Stevenage, Chelmsford City, Eastbourne Borough and Cheshunt.

Mark served as Assistant Manager with Cheshunt, Billericay Town and most recently Kings Lynn Town, where he spent the beginning of this campaign as Manager before departing last month.

Please join us in welcoming Mark Hughes back to the RDA Stadium!
