Jake Cass will return to the Blues for the upcoming season. The striker scored 7 goals in 9 games for the club at the start of the 2018-19 season, before spells with Braintree Town, Chesham United and Chelmsford City.
Upon the announcement of his signing, he had this to say, “I have unfinished business, I wanted to come back to the club I enjoyed my time most at and did well for, combined with the club’s success last season and ambitions this season.”
Talking about his style of play, he said, “I’d probably describe myself as quite a physical centre forward who likes to lead the front line and get our team up the pitch.”
When asked about how he’s settled in with the squad, he said, “I know most of the squad already but have also met up with them recently, it’s a very strong group of men and characters that I’m looking forward to playing alongside.”
Cass expressed his eagerness to get back out on the pitch in pre-season, “I’m really looking forward to getting back to pre-season and more importantly playing games in front of crowds, hopefully we will start as well as we know we can and get as many fans as possible at games and behind the team.”
Staying injury free is his main individual target, but highlights promotion and the team’s aim for the season “Individually I just want to stay fit, play as many games as possible and do what I know I can do, but the main aim is the team winning most of our games and being the strongest side in this league and ultimately being promoted.”
