General Manager Update

Dear BSFC supporter,

For those of you who attended the Maldon & Tiptree friendly last Friday night, it was nice to be back and see so many friendly faces. It was our first home game since October! With the game being three days prior to all legal COVID-19 restrictions being lifted, we continued with the mitigations we had in place last season. Such as, track and trace on entry, temperature checking, indoor mask wearing etc. Following consultation with relevant club officials, supporters, volunteers & stakeholders, in line with the unanimous feedback I have received, the Board have decided to keep the following mitigations:

  1. NHS track & trace QR codes will remain populated around the ground for check in
  2. Indoor mask wearing
  3. Try to minimise social interaction when indoors and continue to sanitise hands

We also request that all supporters, visiting officials, players & attendees take a lateral flow test 24 hours before a match day.

On another note, last Thursday, Birchwood School launched their public consultation as the school looks to develop a new leisure and sports complex. The state-of-the-art facility will feature a floodlit artificial football pitch and the club are in advanced discussions with the school about becoming long-term users of the facility. The plans can be viewed and comments made by visiting until September 6th.

The academy finished for the term last week. It’s been an incredibly difficult year for the boys and I am super proud of them all. I am pleased to advise that we will have a squad of 22 for the 21/22 season and our efforts now turn towards pre-season and the FA Youth Cup.

Best regards,
