Farsley Celtic 3-1 Bishop’s Stortford Match Report

3/2/24

Vanarama National League North

Hamish Arnold

Farsley Celtic inflicted an eighth consecutive defeat in the Vanarama National League North for Bishop’s Stortford. After a 0-1 win at the RDA Stadium in the reverse fixture, Saturday’s hosts won 3-1 as the Blues remain bottom of the table.

HT 2-0

Harvey Rowe fired a first time stroke from the edge of the box after a left wing cross, but Giddens got down well to save it. Greene curled a left footed shot wide after evading three tackles, before Crichlow dragged a shot off target. Crichlow forced a save from Leban’s legs when through one-on-one, with the goalkeeper quick to shut down the shooting chance. Substitute Emmanuel Oke’s miscued clearance fell kindly to Donaldson, who played a through ball to Michael Coulson, who squared to Ben Atkinson for a far post tap in and 3-0. A looping a swerving left wing cross cannoned off the post from Wadsworth, with Giddens leaving it to go behind, before Coulson had the ball in the net off a rebound from Allan’s shot, but was flagged offside. Crichlow netted a consolation through Leban’s legs, but couldn’t find another goal to apply late pressure to the hosts
