FA Cup Draw

The FA Cup draw, for the 2nd qualifying round, took place today, and we have been drawn home to, the Pitching in Isthmian North League side Brentwood Town on Saturday 3rd October!

In the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, step 4 Brentwood Town knocked out The Pitching in Isthmian League – South Central Division competitors, FC Romania, thanks to Sam Bantick’s goal early in the second half of the competitive tie, which saw the Brentwood go through. They then went on to win 2-1 against New Salamis in the 1st qualifying round, seeing them go through to todays draw for the 2nd qualifying round.

The Blues in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, Stortford competed against The Pitching in Isthmian Southern League Central Division One competitors, Welwyn Garden City; where 90 minutes of competitive football saw both teams level, and resultingly go straight to penalties, where we went on to win 4-3  thanks to two brilliant saves by Jack Giddens and 4 well-taken penalties by Darren Foxley, Ben Marlow, Joe Boachie and Louie Johnson.
