Blues Secure FA Funding For Local Charities

Bishop’s Stortford Football Club were recently asked to bid for a donation from the FA Community Shield Fund for Charities of their choice. The club were successful in their application and duly nominated two deserving local charities, The Welbeloved Club and WigglyWillow, who each received a cheque for £500.

The two charities received their donations on the pitch at the R&D Advisors UK Stadium ahead of the game with Cray Wanderers on Saturday 23rd April.

The Welbeloved Club, based in Sawbridgeworth, are a charity providing a monthly Sunday lunch for people aged 65 and over who are experiencing loneliness and social isolation.  You can find more details about the great work they do at www.thewelbelovedclub.com

Wiggly Willow are an organisation providing adults with special needs in the local community a safe space to attend services and training to grow their independence and nurture their self worth.

You can support them by visiting their coffee shop in town for breakfast or lunch or find out more by visiting www.wigglywillow.org
