Blues back for Christmas!

Manager Update 24/11/2020

Everyone at the club would like to reiterate our thanks to the front-line staff working and wish all our supporters well, during these testing times. The club welcomes the recent news, that lockdown will indeed end on Wednesday December 2nd and the good progress made by scientists on the vaccination front.

On the football front, players have virtually been working very closely with Mike Williams, owner of MWFITNESS. Mike is a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist with over 15 years of experience, which has involved working with some of the best physiotherapists, sports scientists, and athletes in the country, including a role at West Ham United. Mike first met with the team back in August, where he conducted full body composition, skeletal analysis, and fitness testing of all the players. Since the return of lockdown, Mike has given each player bespoke exercise plans, along with advice to improve player’s nutrition habits for optimum athlete performance. Mike provided all players with Myzone heart rate monitors, meaning that Mike can track player’s heart rate recovery and effort levels.

Corey Davidson and Sam Robbins are currently with Braintree Town on dual registration basis, to keep fit during the lockdown. Both are expected to return to the club when training commences on Thursday December 3rd. Archie Jones will also be returning as part of his loan deal with Peterborough United.  We will look to organise a friendly on Saturday December 5th so that the team have some match fitness leading up to the FA Trophy game on Tuesday December 8th against Haringey Borough.

Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Best,

Steve Smith
