Steve became acting joint 1st Team Manager on the resignation of Adam Flint in September. Has had previous experience in charge with Stortford a couple of seasons ago and also had a spell in charge with Chelmsford City.
A former Premiership striker, Jamie joined from Farnborough in January 2018 and made his Blues debut in the New Years Day fixture at home to Royston Town. In a long and varied career he started at Norwich City making his senior debut against Everton in November 1994 and scoring his first senior goal when finding the net versus Chelsea the next month. An England Youth International, he has gone on to play for Bristol Rovers, Reading, Queens Park Rangers, Swindon, Colchester United, Exeter City, Leyton Orient and Cheltenham Town and in non-league Dagenham & Redbridge, Eastleigh and St Albans City as well as Farnborough. He was part of the England team that won the Veterans World Cup in in Thailand in June 2017 and he was the star performer scoring in every tie including the 2-0 Final victory over Iran. Jamie is employed as an Academy coach at the Arsenal with the under 15s and under 16s. Jamie scored his first goal for Stortford in a 1-1 draw at Weymouth in early January and finished with ten goals from twenty matches for the Blues last season. Recently appointed joint Acting Manager. Approaching 1,000 club career appearances he has now scored over 350 goals.
Jim played locally for a number of clubs before taking up coaching. He has been involved with the Blues’ Academy set-up for several years and during last season became associated with the first team as well.
Calum was signed by Stortford towards the end of February and made his debut in the home fixture against Frome Town. The Blues were Calum’s first senior club as he was in the Community club set-up before playing a number of matches for the reserve side in the Capital League in the 2010/11 season. He then joined Histon, in the National League South, and was with the Cambridge side for three seasons clocking up over 60 appearances. Calum then joined Hayes & Yeading also in the National South at the start of the 2014/15 term. In October 2014 Calum made his one appearance for the England C national side when he played in a 2-0 defeat by Turkey in Istanbul. In July 2015 he joined National League side Cheltenham Town and made his debut for them in a FA Trophy tie against Chelmsford City. After helping the Robins gain promotion into the EFL Calum signed a new one-year deal in June 2016 and made his Football League debut during an EFL Trophy tie against Blackpool. Whilst at Cheltenham he had a spell on loan at Worcester City. He left Cheltenham at the end of the 2016/17 term upon the expiry of his contract and signed for Welling United in November. Before joining Stortford he played a few games for Hoddesdon Town in the Spartan South Midland League. By the end of last season Calum had made 13 appearances for the Blues
Dan is currently on a work experience loan with the Blues from Southend United. He made his debut for Stortford coming on as a substitute against Wingate & Finchley at the start of October. Dan had a couple of loan spells last season with Lowestoft Town.
25 year-old Sam joined Stortford from Waltham Abbey in the summer. Sam began his career at Wingate & Finchley before moving on to the Abbotts. He spent the last three seasons at Waltham Abbey playing well over 100 games, mainly in central defence where his superb reading of the game, speed and tenacious attitude caught the eye of the management. Sam made his Stortford debut in a Herts County Charity Cup tie against Hitchin Town in early August and is the skipper of the side.
Only 17 in July, Marcus signed for the first team last October on the back of some excellent performances with the youth team in the FA Youth Cup that took them through to the 2nd Round proper of the competition. He made his 1st team debut as a substitute in a 4-0 win against Hanwell Town in the FA Trophy and by the end of the season had made 5 appearances in the senior side.
Ben joined Stortford for a second spell at the beginning of November. Originally he was a member of the Chelsea squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2010 when he was a non-playing substitute in both legs of the Final against Aston Villa. After leaving Chelsea in June 2011 he joined Brighton & Hove Albion where he made one first team appearance that being when the Seagulls played Wrexham in an FA Cup tie in January 2012. His first spell with Stortford was in the later stages of the 2012/13 campaign, our last season in the Conference North. Ben made 10 appearances for Stortford and made his debut in a 3-1 home defeat to Brackley Town. He then had a spell with Chelmsford City before going up to Scotland to Greenock Morton. Unfortunately his time north of the border was curtailed by a serious injury. Eventually, Ben joined Brentwood Town in the 2016/17 term and then played for Heybridge Swifts last season and was part of the Swifts’ team that had a great run into the 1st round of the FA Cup before being eliminated at Exeter City. He then had spells with East Thurrock United and Aveley last season and continued this season with the Millers before arriving at the ProKit (UK) Stadium.
Chris, who can play in midfield as well as defence, was signed on dual registration forms at the start of the season, his other club being Chelmsford City. He originally played for the Clarets under18 side. He was awarded a diploma to attend the Hartpury College, the number one sports college in the UK, a few years ago. Based in Gloucester, Chris played for Gloucester City, Frome Town and Yate Town during his time in the West Country. He made his Blues debut in the opening league match at home to Dorking Wanderers and scored his first Blues goal when netting the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Welwyn Garden City in the Hers County Senior Cup in October.
Signed in August, Isaac made his Stortford debut coming on as a substitute in the away match at Bognor Regis Town the same month. As a youngster he was involved in the Charlton Athletic youth set-up before joining Woking’s Academy. Since then he has played in Enfield Town’s under 21 side and Walthamstow and Ilford in the Essex Senior League. Isaac scored his first goal for Stortford when netting the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Merstham.
Johnville began his career at Leyton Orient before leaving for Stoke City at 15 years old. He spent four years at The Potters before joining AFC Wimbledon in League 2. Comfortable in both defence & midfield, he spent six months at Maldon & Tiptree last season. Johnville made his Stortford debut against Hitchin Town in a Herts County Charity Cup tie in August.
Ryan joined Stortford in early November 2018 making his debut in a 1-0 home victory over AFC Hornchurch. Originally he was a long serving defender with AFC Sudbury who he first signed for as a 16 year-old in March 2010 and making his first team debut the following month. Altogether he wracked up 304 appearances for the Suffolk club netting 33 goals. As a youngster he also played for Cornard United and Witham Town and Ryan was also picked for the Essex under 18 representative team as well as having trials for the English under 18 Schools side. Ryan has also had short spells with Chelmsford City, Haverhill Rovers, Billericay Town, Braintree Town, Eastleigh and Welling United. Whilst with AFC Sudbury he helped them gain promotion into the Ryman Premier League by winning the Division 1 North Championship and that season, 2015/16, he was selected for that Division’s “Team of the Season”. Ryan was with Sudbury until June 2017 when he transferred to Heybridge Swifts and was an important part of the Essex side’s excellent run in the FA Cup last season that saw them eventually go out at Exeter City in the 1st Round. Last term also saw Ryan win the “Manager’s Player of the Year Award” as well as the “Players’ Player of the Year Award”. Also, at the League’s Award function in June, he was selected in the Bostik North’s Team of the Year and a month earlier Ryan was selected for the prestigious Middlesex Wanderers touring side to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
22 year-old Ryan arrived at the ProKit UK Stadium from Canvey Island. He is a skilful wide-man capable of scoring spectacular goals from distance. Nicknamed ‘Spider’ – Ryan bagged 10 goals for the Gulls last season including the winner in the Play Off Semi-Final against Bowers & Pitsea. Ryan’s previous clubs include Ipswich Town, Needham Market, Witham Town and Stanway Rovers. His Blues debut was as a substitute against Hitchin Town in a Herts County Charity Cup tie in August and he netted his first Blues goal in the 3-1 home victory over Carshalton Athletic in September.
Jack spent two seasons with the Blues Academy set-up and gained valuable experience of senior football with Sawbridgeworth Town in the Essex Senior League in the 2016/17 season. He made his Blues first team debut in a Hertfordshire Charity Cup Semi-Final tie against Hitchin Town last September and has been a major influence in the Blues midfield since then. Jack made 30 appearances for the Blues last term.
Hector is a midfielder who can score goals and was the mainstay of the Leyton Orient under 18s last season. He helped the O’s youngsters win the Merit League Two in May with a 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle when Hector notched a brace. His good form was recognised by the coaching staff with him travelling to Hartlepool United with the first team. Hector signed a two-year scholarship with Orient last July and has been with the East Enders since the age of nine. He joined the Blues in October on a work experience loan and made his Stortford debut against Tilbury in the Velocity Trophy. Earlier, in August, he was on a similar loan with near neighbours Harlow Town where he made three appearances.
22 year-old Jordan impressed in pre-season before the start of last season. He was an outstanding player through the age groups in the Stortford Community side set-up and has had a number of trials with professional clubs. Most of the 2016/17 term was spent with local Essex Senior League side Takeley with whom he made over 40 appearances. Jordan made his Blues debut coming on as a substitute away at Tiverton Town in the first match of the 2017/18 campaign and scored his first goal netting a late equaliser against Farnborough in November. By the end of last season Jordan had made 49 appearances for Stortford and netted 3 goals.
21 year-old Nick joined Stortford in October and made his debut in the home 3-0 league win over Corinthian Casuals. He was at Heybridge Swifts earlier in the campaign and was with Leyton Orient the same time as Johnville Renee. Nick’s other previous clubs include Farnborough, AFC Hornchurch, Stansted and Cheshunt. Nick scored his first goal for Stortford when netting in a 4-2 defeat at Potters Bar Town in October.
Freddie is another member of the club’s under 18s squad that reached the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup last season. Freddie was signed on Evo Stik South forms in mid November and was an unused substitute against Farnborough that month. He made his first team debut when coming on as a substitute in a home match against Banbury United in January. He was struck by illness late in the season but had made 8 appearances by the end of the campaign.
17 year-old Olly is in his first year in the Club’s Academy scheme and has already signed Bostik League forms. He was an unused substitute in the Blues match at home to Burgess Hill Town earlier in October and then made his first team debut against Tilbury in the Velocity Trophy when he scored a penalty when the Blues advanced in the league cup 8-7 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Son of former Stortford striker Damon, Olly has also played for neighbours Takeley in the Essex Senior League this season.
A very experienced striker, Luke joined Stortford for a second spell in early November. He had previously played for the Blues in the 2016/17 season, making his debut in a 2-0 defeat at Bath City in January 2017 and going on to make 18 appearances and netting four goals by the end of that season. Luke’s football career started as young player with Ipswich Town where he spent seven years. He joined Stanway Rovers in 2006 and was with the Colchester club until linking up with Heybridge Swifts in January 2010. Whilst with the Swifts he was top goalscorer in the Ryman Football League in the 2012/13 season notching up 33 goals. Luke transferred to Chelmsford City in November 2013 and had a short loan spell whilst with the Clarets with Witham Town. He then joined AFC Sudbury in March 2015 and in the following season, 2015/16, won a Ryman North league Championship medal with the Suffolk side. He eventually returned to Heybridge Swifts in May 2017 and by the time he left there to join Stortford he had become Swifts’ record goalscorer in senior football with 117 goals from just over 200 matches.
Alfie was a member of the successful under 18s side that fought their way through to play Colchester United in the 2nd round proper of the FA Youth last term. He scored twice in extra time when Stortford beat Boreham Wood in the 1st round. Alfie made his Blues senior debut when coming on as a substitute against Kings Langley in November. He had a short spell at Thurlow Nunn Eastern Leaguers Coggeshall Town in the early part of the New Year. He netted his first senior goal for Stortford when scoring against Slough Town in March. By the end of the season Alfie had made 19 appearances for Stortford and scored two goals.
