McCall’s goal not enough for Blues
Stortford left Clarence Park empty handed on Saturday despite controlling long periods of the 2-1 defeat against St Albans City.
James Comley scored his second goal in as many games to give the Saints a deserved 14thminute lead but Spencer McCall replied in the 35th minute with his first goal for the Blues and from then on Stortford were on the front foot.
However, City showed their ability to steal a victory with a goal from Ben Martin against the run of play in the 71st minute.
The result sees the Blues drop to 14th in the Vanarama Conference South table as they prepare to host Chelmsford City on Monday, 3pm.
