Luke and Josh on target

On-loan Blues midfielder Luke Milbourne scored Brightlingsea Regent’s second goal as they won 3-2 at Waltham Abbey, on Saturday.

It was Regent’s first away of the season and lifted them up to 19th place in Ryman North.

With Joe Tabiiri at a wedding, Jermaine Osei was called back from Brighlingsea to sit on the bench for Blues’ home defeat against Basingstoke.

Josh Fagbohun was also on target as he continued his loan spell at Cheshunt, scoring their opener in a 2-0 win against a Thurrock side containing former Blues Rob Gilman and Lewwis Spence.

Under new boss Glenn Alzapiedi, the young striker scored just before the break to give the Ambers revenge for last week’s FA Cup loss against the same side and move them up to 17th place in the Ryman North table.

Ishmael Kamara was also on the winning  side as the on-loan striker made his debut for Canvey Island in their 1-0 home victory against VCD Athletic which lifted them up to 11th in the Ryman Premier.

The Sierra Leone international went close to wrapping up the win with a good effort late in the game as did former Blue Rio Bryan-Edwards who has re-signed for his former club. Former Blue Ahmed Deen came on as a second half substitute for the visitors.

Goalkeeper Sam Baxter’s brief loan spell at Great Wakering Rovers proved to be disappointing as they went down 2-0 at home against Cray Wanderers.

A crowd of 227 took advantage of free admission on Non-League Day, but Rovers remain rooted to the bottom of the Ryman North table.
