Help raise £10k for prostate cancer research
Conference sponsors Vanarama have agreed to donate £10,000 to research into prostate cancer if the total attendances across the 33 games in the competition exceeds 50,000 this Saturday.
The Blues host Basingstoke Town at the ProKit UK Stadium, kick-off, on Non-League Day and with no Premier League or Championship football that day, we’ll be looking for a big crowd.
Stortford really will be the best team in area to watch on Saturday and they’ve entered into the spirit of the day by offering cheap admission to fans who normally watch pro teams. Season ticket holder s for any Premier or Football League teams can gain admission for just £5 if they show their ticket.
Rod Stringer’s side will be up against a Basingstoke team who have started the season in fine form and sit third in the table with four wins from six games.
The top two supported sides in the Conference Premier – Bristol Rovers and Wrexham – are both away from home, so it’s a tough ask for the 33 games to average over 1,500 fans per game, although Grimsby and Chester who are third and fourth in the attendance table are at home as are Torquay United.
To help raise awareness for the campaign, join Matt Le Tissier and others, and post pictures of you and your friends with ‘thumbs up’ to @Vanarama and using #thumbsup4NLD, or www.facebook.com/vanarama
