Friday fever at the Prokit
Blues will play their first home Good Friday game for more than 40 years when Gosport Borough are the visitors to the ProKit UK Stadium, kick-off 3pm.
The game should provide plenty of goals with the two leakiest defences in Vanarama South going head-to-head.
While Blues have conceded 93 goals in 38 games, Borough have gone two better.
Saturday’s loss at Weston-Super-Mare condemned Blues to relegation, but Borough are still battling to avoid the drop and are four points adrift of Whitehawk with four games remaining having taken 32 points from 38 matches.
After a long losing run looked to have consigned them to the drop, a 4-0 win against St Albans City and a 1-0 success gave the Hampshire side a chance although since then them have suffered heavy losses against Chelmsford City and Welling United.
Blues will be looking for their first league double of the season after Tarik Moore-Azille’s 92 minute goal saw them win 1-0 when the sides met on August Bank Holiday weekend.
The Blue Brazil took four points off Borough last season, with the home 2-0 win seeing one of our best performances of the season at the ProKit UK Stadium. Robbie Willmott’s first goal for the club and an Elliott Buchanan strike were enough to give Blues the points after a goalless first half, but the return saw a turgid affair as Stortford shaded a goalless draw.
