Cup action on Saturday
The Blue Brazil will look to reach their first cup final of the season when they host Hitchin Town in the Herts Charity Cup semi-final on Saturday.
With both teams having a free date having opted out of the FA Cup, it will be a rare Saturday county cup side as Blues look for their seventh Charity Cup final appearance in the last eight years.
Admission to this game has been reduced to £7 adults & £4 concessions
The game also gives Kevin Watson’s side the chance to build on Tuesday night’s 2-0 home win against Kings Langley.
Having reached the Evo-Stik South Premier play-offs last season, the Canaries have made a surprisingly poor start to the 2017/18 campaign and are currently three places below the Blues in 20th position with five points from seven games.
After taking two points from their opening four games, they picked up their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 home victory against Royston Town on August Bank Holiday Monday. Their FA Cup “run” ended in a penalty shoot-out defeat against Isthmian North side Haringey Borough after a pair of 1-1 draws, and their last two league games have seen losses at Tiverton Town and Slough Town.
The sides met in last season’s Herts Senior Cup final, with the Canaries coming from behind to win 2-1, and we’ll see plenty of each other before Christmas with trips to Top Field in the Herts Senior and BigFreeBet Cup along with a league meeting at the ProKit UK Stadium.
