Blues lose opener
The first game back in The Skrill South started with some promise as the Blues looked on top for the opening section of the game. A good break from a Bath City corner saw Blues captain Reece Prestedge break and pass out wide to solitary striker Kyle Vassell. Vassell made a solid run in to the box but there was no one there to meet his cross. Bath had their chances and took the lead just as half time approached, scored by their impressive number 10, Andy Watkins.
Bath doubled their lead soon in to the second half from a free kick that was headed in by David Pratt. Bath understandably slowed the game down as best they could and it came a bit of a scrappy affair but Rod Stringer showed his intent by bringing on 2 further strikers, George Sykes and Kyle Asante. It was to be Asante who got the consolation goal, his looping header just crossed the line and on another day may not have been given.
The Blues will dust themselves off and hope to pick up their first win on Monday as they travel to Boreham Wood who comfortably beat Tonbridge Angels 2-0 today.
