Chelmsford NewBlues will look to move a step closer to Wembley Stadium when they host Chelmsford City at the ProKit UK Stadium in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Rod Stringer’s team will look to be their inconsistent league form as they face their Vanarama Conference South rivals, kick-off 3pm. Normal admission prices apply, with adults priced at £12, concessions £7, Students £6 and U-16s £5. Accompanied U-12s are free.

The sides have already met at the ProKit UK Stadium this season, and a late rally wasn’t enough to prevent a 3-2 home defeat on August Bank Holiday Monday.

The Clarets are seven places higher that Blues in the Conference South table but there are only six points separating the sides after 17 games and like Stortford they have struggled with inconsistency and recently suffered a 5-1 loss at Whitehawk.fatrophyimage2

It will be the second meeting in the FA Trophy between the clubs, and Blues will hoping to repeat their 2-1 away win against City in 1980 which was the second victory on the way to Trophy glory the following May.

Ashley-Miller-272x220Boss Rod Stringer is hoping that Ashley Miller will be fit after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the 1-1 home draw against Eastbourne, but skipper Anthony Church looks set to miss out with a torn quad muscle. Defender Danny Fitzsimons has returned to Luton Town following his three month loan with the Blues.

Stringer’s team is also in action on Tuesday when they travel to Stevenage to face the League 2 side in the Herts Senior Cup second round. Admission at the Lamex Stadium is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
