Blues go second
An early brace from Cliff Akurang laid the foundations for what looked like being a comfortable win, his first was a superb shot from 25 yards out. Cliff was substituted soon after his second goal with a slight limp but the Blues held on to the 2-0 lead at half time. Kyle Vassell effectively put the result beyond doubt after George Sykes had put through a great ball for Johnny Herd who had to beat his man twice before getting off a cross in to the box, Vassell looked to back heal it in to the net. Ebbsfleet huffed and puffed but on the whole had no end product but did get 2 late consolation goals to make the final score 3-2 but by then the Blues were down to 10 men after the sending off of Anthony Church for receiving 2 yellows. The Blues now turn their attention to the FA Cup with a trip to Forest Green Rovers of the Skrill Premier on Saturday.
