Blues aim to blunt Darts
Blues make their final trip of the season when they make the short journey to Dartford.
While Kevin Watson’s side have only pride to play for, the Darts are still looking to secure home advantage in the play-off semi-final second leg. Tony Burman’s side go into the penultimate weekend of the season in fourth place with 78 points from 40 games, and are behind Chelmsford City on goal difference having already sealed a place in the post-season.
Blues will be without Darren Purse and Luke Callandar for the rest of the season due to suspension, while Adam Everett will play his final game of the campaign on Saturday.
When the sides met at the ProKit UK Stadium in November Blues’ miserable home season continued with a 3-0 loss as Darts’ stopper, Deren Ibrahm, fresh from his international outings for Gibraltar, had an easy afternoon. Apart from the opening ten minutes the visitors were always the better side and by the final whistle could have won by a wider margin as strikes from Andy Pugh, Elliott Bradbrook and a George Allen own goal gave them the win.
The two meetings between the sides last season also went the way of the Kent club, with Christian Smith’s goal at the ProKit Stadium being only a consolation as the Darts won 2-1 while in the return on Good Friday Blues finished with only ten men due to injury and had only an own goal to show for their efforts in a 3-1 defeat.
