Blues were forced to settle for a point against 10-man Chesham on Tuesday, but Kevin Watson’s side will look back on it as a missed opportunity.

Mark HughesThe visitors saw Joe Iaciofano sent off shortly before half-time when he picked up a second yellow card for time-wasting in the space of three minutes.

Goalkeeper Luke Sheldrick made his Blues debut replacing the injured Tyler McCarthy while on-loan Freddy Moncur started in place of the suspended Jason Williams

The visitors certainly took things slowly after they had opened the scoring against the run of play in the 31st minute when Iaciofano slotted home at the far post.

Before the goal Blues had looked the better side, but in the absence of top scorer Williams they struggled to force visiting keeper Al-Droubi into a serious save, though Darren Foxley and Dipo Akinyemi had half chances.

The deserved equaliser came with 19 minutes remaining when brilliant work from Christian Owusu down the left tees up Mark Hughes to smash the balll in off the under side of the bar.

There was still time for Ryan Richmond and Chesham’s Toomey to miss efforts that seemed easier to score, but it will be the visitors who went home happier with the point.
