Barking trip for Blues

Categories: Uncategorized

Blues will wrap up their pre-season campaign with a trip to Mayesbrook Park to face Barking on Tuesday August 6, kick-off 7.45pm.
We last met the old Barking FC club in the Isthmian League Division One in 1993/4, but after a fairly short merger with East Ham United they folded in 2006. The current club was immediately formed, and after 11 years in the Essex Senior League they won promotion to Ryman North at Essex Senior League champions in 2017 having taken 100 points and scored 125 goals in 42 games. Their first season in Bostik North saw them finish 10th, while last season saw them come 12th with 47 points from 38 games. They went out of both FA competitions at the first hurdle, losing to Bowers & Pitsea in the Cup and Hayes & Yeading in the Trophy.
The 2019/20 season will see “The Blues” (who appear to have nicked our nickname) transferred to the Bostik South Central Division which will see them make regular trips to south London and beyond.
