Alex’s back for 2019/20
Alex Warman has become the fifth member of the 2018/19 Stortford squad to commit for next season.
Joint boss Steve Smith was a happy man after securing the youngster on a one year deal: “Alex has really improved during the season and the experience he gained in the first team will help him next year.
“We’re pleased to sign Alex on a one-year contract and looking forward to helping him develop next season.”
The midfielder was part of the Blues’ Academy set-up for two seasons a couple of years ago. He went on to play local football before joining Hoddesdon Town last season and was with them at the start of this campaign before joining near neighbours Essex Senior Leaguers Takeley.
He remained on a dual registration deal with the Station Road club but having made his Blues’ senior debut in a Velocity Trophy tie in December against Wingate & Finchley followed by a first league outing in the Boxing Day win against Harlow Town, he became a regular in the Stortford squad. He finished the season having made seven league starts and as many substitute appearances as well as playing in four cup games.
