BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT 0 BISHOP’S STORTFORD 1

Tim Moylette’s side wrapped up the season with a hard working victory over third in the table Regent.

Although they had to defend for long spells in the second half the Blues fully deserved the three points keeping a clean sheet for the second successive match.
The winning goal came in the 22nd minute with Sam Brown playing the ball down the middle for top scorer Alex Rogers to coolly slot past keeper Adam Simmonds. Rogers, who recently made his first team debut, finished with 18 goals in the Alliance this term.

After the break the hosts pressed strongly but keeper Aron Martin was rarely troubled as his defence, well led by skipper Jack Thomas, kept Regent at bay.
The Academy have now completed their fixtures and will finish midway, fifth , in the league table having won 10 and lost eight of their 18 matches

BISHOP’S STORTFORD: Aron Martin, Sam Philpot (Danny Palmer 68), Harry Burton, Callum O’Brien, Jack Thomas, Frankie Oatham, Lewis McDonald, Joseph Vieites-Stephenson, Alex Rogers (Callum Lynskey 84), George Bartlam, Sam Brown.
