Blues will look to continue to move up the Evo-Stik South Premier table when they host Basingstoke Town on Saturday.
The Hampshire head into the weekend eight places above blues in tenth place with six wins and as many losses from 12 games,
They have shown that they score plenty of goals with an 8-0 win at Gosport Borough, a 5-0 home win against Chesham United and a 6-2 league cup win at Fleet Town, but they surprisingly went out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle with a loss at Hartley Wintney.
The Dragons (or Stoke as they used to be known) will need little introduction to Blues’ fans, as the two sides have met on numerous occasions in both Conference South and the Isthmian League. An unbeaten run in their final six games saw them move up the table to tenth following their surprise relegation from the Conference in 2016. That relegation came a year after reaching the Conference South play-offs, and saw crowds drop by 20 percent to a 401 average, but the club’s finances have taken a dive with their owner wanting the money back he loaned to fund that. They had announced that April’s home game against Hitchin Town would be their last at Camrose before it was sold for redevelopment, but they have since announced that they will remain at their home for at least another season.
Blues’ top scorer Jason Williams will again miss the game as he completes a two-game ban following his red card at Hitchin.
